The Atlantic Museum (Museo Atlántico) Lanzarote in Playa Blanca is the only underwater museum in Europe.

It was opened to the public on March 2, 2016 for divers, Freedivers and snorkellers. The artist, Jason deCaires Taylor, is famous for his underwater art. He was the forerunner with the world’s first underwater sculpture park in Grenada (Caribbean), and the submerged museum on the coast of Cancun, Mexico.

Our Atlantic Museum is located off the protected coast of Las Coloradas at a depth of 15 metres, in  Playa Blanca. All the statues have been made with moulds of real people and all the sculptures of the Rubicon with moulds of people residing in Lanzarote. The Atlantic Museum of Lanzarote is now finished and consists of more than 300 sculptures, designed to create marine habitat and promote social awareness.

Your guide will explain the statues and the meaning of the exhibits as part of your briefing aboard the boat before the dive.
